Wireless technologies

My name is Valerie Rivard and I am a student at the University of Windsor. My career path I have chosen is to be an accountant(CMA, CGA).First I will be graduating from the University of Windsor next year in the accounting track program, yeah! I like to read novels especially the twilight saga. You cannot put the book down it is that good. I also enjoy playing the piano but there is not enough time to practice when you have to chase around a toddler.
I have chosen to write about the topic Wireless Technologies because it is amazing and interesting on how far technology has powerfully grown within the reach of the palm of your hand.

In today's business world wireless technology is an essentially part of daily business. These small wireless devices are small, compact and have sufficient computing power that make them productive in the sense that you can access your business emails from home or during the commute to work. While owning a mobile device, work is becoming more and more flexible. With WIFI networks (communicate wireless with the internet) you can browse the web, check for emails and they have recently introduced voice control that allows you to call anyone with the sound of your voice everywhere you go. Today there are many examples of these new wireless devices such as The Blackberry 8900 smartphone with many features such as WIFI network to shop on line, stream videos & music, listen to music with a media player, camera phone 3.2 megapixels with video recording and of course making important phone calls. The second example would be the apple I phone3G touch tone widescreen with features like internet, video, music, camera phone, and voice control for calling out or simply playing your favourite song. Other examples would be the Treo 750, the Motorola v3t, the Helio Ocean and the Sony Mylo. In the accounting world you can email your clients anywhere on the planet giving them accounting advice. One problem with easy access to your email is you keep on wanting to check it all the time. This consumes your time and makes you additive to this wireless device. People refer to the addictive nature of these device by calling the blackberry a Crackberry. Some of the people who own these devices are completely glued to their screens while being oblivious to their surroundings. Another good point is you can research and find different standards of accounting to help out your clients further in their businesses. If your lost and need to find your way to clients to prepare an audit there is a built in GPS(you will never get lost). These phones help you organize your life and help to assist you to improve your career because of the knowledge it offers. There are many positive aspects of these phones that I may consider owning in the future.

The negative aspects of wireless technologies is equipment theft. This devices are becoming smaller with more power and with increase storage. This makes it easier for thieves to steal and use these computing devices and have access to take valuable and personal information. They can steal your money, no where you live or completely still your identity. People have a tough time recovering from identity theft because it is costly, time consuming, and very difficult. Victims have bad credit and cannot even obtain a job because of unpaid bills and negative information.
In a business employees who own wireless devices such as an Ipod use a technique called pod slurping. They plug an Ipod (other wireless devices) into a usb port on a computer and download huge amounts of information very easy and quickly. An Ipod contains 60 gigabytes of storage and can download the hard drive in minutes. These are a few things to research about before thinking of owning any of these wireless devices.

In conclusion these wireless technology devices gives as the pleasure to listen to our favourite music, keep in touch with friends (facebook), and access emails for work, find our way in life, be organize, store picture keepsakes, express your opinions (twitter, blogs), download videos, music, explore the knowledge of the internet. These amazing small devices have changed the way we think, act, feel and interact with the world around us.(see attached links related to Wireless technologies).
